Summary

On February 10, 2014, Prescriptions for a Healthy America and Script Your Future, a National Consumers League campaign, co-hosted a medication adherence panel discussion and Q&A at Brown University Medical Research in Providence, Rhode Island. The event featured U.S. Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse, who participated as panelists, along with a host of Rhode Island health policy leaders. Approximately 70 people attended the event where the discussion focused on the problem of medication non-adherence, its impact on cost and health and federal and state solutions. There was extensive discussion by state officials and healthcare industry representatives about the steps that can be taken in Rhode Island to improve medication adherence.
